The apprenticeship and the diploma are different in many aspects, however, some key differences include the following. Apprenticeships are government-funded schemes, which means that you will not have to pay for the course, however, you will be on an apprentice hourly pay. Students on the diploma courses will have to self-fund their courses for which they have a couple of options. Differences also occur in terms of entry requirements where a diploma does not have formal entry requirements compared to apprenticeship schemes, which require certain grades as a minimum. Some apprenticeship courses with other providers also require attendance at the college once per week, however, the Apprenticeship courses that we provide at Cavity is completely online so you don’t have to worry about organising time and life around in-person attendance to classes.
The apprenticeship scheme opens many opportunities for students that may not be able to afford the cost of the course, thereby enabling more students to start their dental careers without financial worries. Researching the right course for you can take some time and can be confusing with the many types available on the market. Feel free to find out about all the differences between apprenticeship and diploma courses here.
